Suggestion on my part:
I would like to wish a password protection for all model settings or transmitter.
I owned a DC16 for three weeks and I am super happy, thanks.
keep it up
Kind regards
Jochen

If an authorized dealer is able to change the "super password / owner", then anybody else could also do that. You only need one black sheep / dealer who puts the software for the change on the Internet and then this mechanism is totally useless. If you restrict this to Jeti themselves, everybody would have to send their RC to them. Besides all the other procedures, like what is a valid proof of ownership, what happens when people loose their invoice, ... -> in my opinion not practicable compared to the use
Keep things simple. Even a "user password" for preventing a stranger to change your configuration in the field needs a restore procedure, in case a user "forgets" his password. Or again, do you want to send your RC to Jeti in case of that?
Like suggested by the original poster, establish a user password for those people who want to prohibit a quick configuration change through strangers and establish a simple reset procedure which can be done by the user himself.
A password will never prevent somebody from stealing your RC if he really wants it.
And by the way, I never experienced a situation where somebody changed my configurations without my notice/approval, so I wouldn't even use a user password...
my 2 cent
