Hello

Im not sure in which part i should post this, so excuse me if its not the correct sub-forum.

I have a ds14 in a 4 wing servo electric glider and two times this happened to me, i always check controls before each flight so i detected on ground.

Sometimes one of the wing servos do not initialize, i see the behavior in different surfaces (aileron and flap), when this happens i can move the surface with hand so servo its not engaged. I only have to disconnect the esc battery, shutdown the radio, boot again and connect the esc battery to make it work correctly.

I know its estrange but... What do you think and what do you think i need to check? Did that happens to someone before?

Thanks!

ailerons + flaps, I suppose rudder and elevator is on board too ;)
so that would make 6 servos plus the RX ... anything else that is supplied with voltage?
do you have a seperate bec or do you feed the whole from the ESC bec?

maybe there is a too high peak that is drained on connection so that the bec cannot supply it?

always the same servo or channel?
I ask cause the servo could be it, or maybe even the receiver.

did ya check all connections, maybe ther is a wobbly crimp on servo plugs or a connection that is not soldered well?

can you reproduce it?
if so, try to detach 2 servos from the receiver so that the bec has to power up only four servos and than try to reproduce it.

regarding reproducing it ... try as well disconnected to softly to bring all servos out of mid position maually, so that when you attach the power they all have to move in their mid position at once. just to drain the power as much as possible on connecting. cause my guess is, that the peak on connection is too high for the bec, at least it sounds like to me.

all in all it is just guessing. tell us more about the components.
what servos exactly, how is RX and servos supplied (esc bec or external bec), what is the capability of the the bec?

rgds,
guido

Thanks, i will reply point to point

+ Yep, of course also a servo for elevator and another for rudder :) but it only happen to my twice. Once with a flap servo and another one with an aileron
+ 6 servos on board and a esc, nothing else, powering using the esc bec and also an ultra guard.
+ (high peak voltage ) it happens on power up the glider, never flying, so the surfaces are without load
+ not always same channel, two times it happens, two differents surfaces (aileron and flap)
+ i checked the plugs on the receiver and looks ok, also the "electrical" connection between the fuse and wing its with a db9 connector... soldering looks good
+ No i tried several times to reproduce without luck :(
+ I will try your suggestion to try to reproduce the behavior
+ 6 wing servos (TGY-S712G), YEP 80A esc 5.5v 6A bec, hitec 5065mg servos on fuse, Tenshock EDF TS-EZ1515 - 15 with reisenauer gear, ultraguard. jeti ds14, 9 channel receiver

One note: i have a alarm programmed so if the bec drops, the ultra guard began to supply power and i get a audio... never hear that alarm.

ok so knowing the YEP from my own experiance, the are of cause not high value ESCs but they definately have a really strong BEC.
what I want to say is, that I don't think it is the BEC.
hmmhhh ... difficult if it is not reproducable ... but your post is still young, let's wait a bit and see what the professionals might point you too.

Thanks!!!

Yes, its hard to know because i was not able to reproduce always....

I dont think its the BEC of the esc also, because i also have an ultraguard and this should began to supply power as soon as detect a BEC drop.

Also the fact that i only need to "reboot the system" to make it work, makes me think that its not the wiring.

Lets hope some expert give me more clues on what to look
