Since it is very difficult to figure out when a signal loss came up in the log file I would recommend to mark such an alarm in the logfile as a separate column (e.g. "Status").
I understand that in case of a signal loss there is no data received from the Rx but it should be possible to set a flag in the DC-16 at this point and write the event in the first following (correctly received) data point by resetting the flag as well.
