Increased range?

Will the 900 MHz receiver increase the range over the 2.4 GHz receiver when it takes over? I mean, 900 MHz does have a better penetration than 2.4 GHZ, does it not? Can I regard it as a Jeti answer to the Crossfire system?

The 900MHz RX of Jeti (RSat900) is a pure backup RX to a 2.4GHz main RX. The main reason for 900MHz is diversity.
It has very limited connection capabilities for directly connected servos.
The physical constrains of 900MHZ and 2400MHz are clear.
All of my large glider models are equipped with a RSat900 as backup. The logs of the antenna signal strength indicate a similar range as the 2.4GHz system also at large distance 1000m-1500m. It seams clear, that the 900MHz system should work better in situations with shadowing effects, but I do not have experience with that. I do not fly FPV.
My opinion is, that you cannot compare Jeti 900 MHz with the TBS Crossfire System.
JETI and many other vendors does comply with the default legal constrains to use it for unmanned aircraft vehicles.
I am not sure if the TBS Crossfire system comply with these rules and allows a legal operation in your country.

Rainer
