Thanks Tero,

Works perfectly now.

One question - is it deliberate that RelAlt never reads negative values? Not a problem for most when flying from a runway, but it will be important if flying from a hill/ mountain and dive into the valley below.

Thanks again for the fix.

Paul

Yes it is. The idea is to have it reset to 0 some seconds after GPS has a fix. The seconds are for the GPS to adjust. Also the reset-function on a channel of user's choice helps on this. The idea is "X meters above airfield ground"

We have to remember that altitude from GPS is not that precise, while testing this version there were occasions where absolute altitude slowly jumped down to -700 from my usual ~110 only to come slowly back up to normal. Note that there is no calculation of the altitude when used in meters, itäs what GPS says. If one needs precise altitude a vario should be used, in perfect and stable conditions you can get up to ~0.25m or ~1ft accuracy. This is not possible with GPS and with cheap and small sensor's we use in these.

Hello
I built both version 1.6 and version 2.2 and tested it with the NEO-8M GPS module.
I noticed the following:
With both versions, constantly changing and unreal values for "GPS altitude", "GPS speed" and "GPS distance" are displayed when stationary.

Even if I delete all values via the specified channel and do not move the GPS sensor, these values sometimes fluctuate quite violently.
Is that normal?

greeting
Peter

With 2.2 I would suspect either NEO or Ardu-board, the EX-Bus from 2.2 to receiver have been rock solid so I do not believe this is the issue, it has to be in the board or NEO. CHeapest way is to replace the ardu, if that does not help then replace the NEO. I have never seen that with 2.x and NEO-6/7/8 have been tested.

I ordered 2 new NEO-8M and 2 Mini Pro.
I will test and report as soon as I can.

I still have a quick question.
They recommend an Arduino Pro Mini 5V 16MHz and the NEO-M8.
In the specifications of the NEO-M8, the power supply voltage VCC is specified with a maximum of 3.6V.
It doesn't go together, does it?

greeting
Peter
