Hello,

I would like to use this Topic for thoughts about the new DC-24.
Peter Wessels said, that the development of the DC-24 is still in progress, so it should be possible that some ideas from the users here can help Jeti.

My personal Thoughts:
- In my opinion it is important that the DC-24 has another physical design than the DC-16 and DC-14. If I would buy a 1500-2000€ DC-24, then i would not like to have a transmitter which has the same frame like the DC-14/16 and also almost looks like the "cheaper" DC-14/16.
The frames of the Jeti Tranmitters are CNC made, so it is easy to change the Design a little bit.
There have to be some major external characteristics differences between the DC-14/16 and DC-24, not just only another cover plate, another antenna and the color display.

- Bigger display
The actual display has a big Edge => make the edge smaller and use a bigger display

- High resolution display
Look at the screen resolutions of actual smartphones... 1280*720 or even Full HD...Full HD is not nescessary, but 320x240 is far too low.
Because of the color screen the brightness has to be very high if you want to see something on the screen when you are outside. The brightness should be over 500cd/m²
Sensor for automatic brightness adjustment.
In my opinion the display should almost have the quality of a smartphone Display.

- freely tiltable display
In my opinion a very important point.
A Display which can be tilted like the Junsi 4010: www.amain.com/images/large/jun/jun-4010duo.jpg

That are my first thoughts...

Thanks,
Piotre

Hello Jeti!

Here are some thoughts from me concerning a DC/DS24:

# If there are 24 (or more) channels, than there should be more switches or other input possibilities than in DS/DC16.

# A small display with a user-defineable lable for each switch would be very unique and helpfull for users with many different models and functions.

# If hardware-switches (like a Graupner or Futaba multiswitch-panel) would not be possible, these switches could be realised via software. One could create one or more display-sheets with the possibility to control numerous functions (linear or proportional) via touchscreen or the known buttons beneath the display. Or - the other way round - assing numerous functions to one switch via software (that means to control different channels by one switch).

Thanks for all you efforts and great ideas!
Kai

Guten Abend,
Ich als Helipilot würde mir eine vernünftige Mittelraste wünschen.

Habe meine DS-16 daraufhin umgebaut. Ein nicht wegdenkbares Tool.
Die Jungs von Weatronic haben das perfekt gelöst!
Austauschbare KulissenScheibe.

Dear Jeti team,
a few suggestions and ideas for the DC24 (or DC32 in case my thoughts are too advanced):)

1. Extend the EX protocol to include HD video transmission
HD quality video, telemetry and the RC controls all transmitted via a 2,4/5,8 GHz link to enable seamlessly integrated FPV and video.
Technically this is feasible, see the Lightbridge product from DJI. No RC equipment manufacturer has done this, it would be truly unique for Jeti.

2. Integrate a 7 inch touchscreen in the Tx
Makes the Tx much more configurable. Show flight controls, eg artificial horizon in conjunction with the new REX gyro, display flight path in Google Earth, show FPV video transmission, get rid of the hardware switches and replace them with software-configurable touch controls. Imagine the endless possibilities to sell upgrades and new features w/o changing hardware. Touchscreens are state of the art in commercial airliner Cockpits, so why not for RC models? But please no 320x240 stoneaged display as in the DC24, better go for a state of the art highres tablet display.

3. Open up the Tx as development platform for partners
Create a developer eco system to provide additional features, ui controls etc. Monetize this by providing a store.
maybe use Android as underlying platform to leverage from the vast developer community.

all this would be new ground and would help to attract the younger and tech savvy generations who are currently moving to a Tanaris and other open systems.
Cheers Stephan
